Mallorca, cars and security guards...
Hey guys,
Firstly if you are reading this: thanks for visiting the site....I really quite like it! I'm going to update this blog at least once a month and keep you guys up to date with what's happening my end.
I'll try my best to keep it interesting however I am currently typing this up in my Uni's laundry so not the most inspiring of places! Can I also thank Silver Hatch for developing this site and to Iain MacIntosh for providing the photos. Very much appreciated. Check out Iain at http://www.imacimages.co.uk/. He made me look half decent so he must be pretty good! And of course to my sponsors Clydesdale Bank.
So what have I been up to recently? Well I started Stirling Uni back in September and absolutely love it.....apart from this little thing called work we are meant to do! Living in the halls has been such a fun experience although I think it has also helped me become a lot more independent and mature. I have been really lucky and got landed with a great bunch of people which has made settling in even easier. I can remember being terrified about moving in however now I'm dreading moving out in a month. My mate and I are currently flat hunting and that along with searching for a car is making me feel very grown up! The only bad thing about being here is I don't get to see my girls back in Glasgow as often as I used to but once I get a car that will be sorted. I'm really not sure what car to get, I'm kind of clueless when it comes to these things and would end up picking something just because it was shiny or ‘cute'!
I am now training with the National Squad at Stirling and coached by Chris Volley and I absolutely love it. Instead of being on my own I finally have some company and am enjoying the training so much more because of it. Last month I was at a training camp in Wales with some of the National Squad and had a great time...although I honestly still can't say I enjoyed running in Merthyr Mawr. I swear I have nightmares about that place! I have also just got back from Mallorca with the same squad and had an absolutely amazing time. (Tough life eh!!) The weather wasn't fab so there went my hopes of getting my first ever tan but the banter and riding completely made up for it. I will defo be revisiting to get some more hard work done. Training is going well right now with my main focus being getting strong which means lots of time in the gym :-) It is quite sad how much I enjoy those sessions!
Been to see a couple of good films this week. Finally saw Slumdog Millionaire last night and thought it was fantastic although quite upsetting at times. I got incredibly upset during the film Marley and Me too and cried for the last 20mins of the film. What a girl! Looking forward to The Boat that Rocked coming out as well as Angels and Demons. I managed to finish the book in 3 days so hope the film is just as good. Back in February I went to see Snow Patrol at the SECC and LOVED it. I like that band far too much for my own good....
Ok so I think to keep people amused every time I blog I am going to try and write about something funny that has happened to me that week. This week: On Saturday I was chased through a shopping centre by a security guard who thought I was shoplifting after an alarm went off as I left a shop. For the record I would like to point out I definitely was not shop lifting and after searching me the security guard confirmed this! I was mortified!
