I promise I won't look at Facebook instead of revising

What exactly is the point of exams??? I have thought about this rather a lot the past couple of weeks as I have sat in my room revising glomeruli, immunoglobulins and poikilotherms. Exciting stuff I know. Unfortunately it is exam period at Stirling Uni and most of my days have been reduced to attempting to motivate myself to study. And generally failing.

I find cramming is the best way I can learn things for an exam, and even though every time the exam period comes around I always say: "I am going to be so prepared this time round." Or "I won't leave studying to the last minute." And "I promise I won't look at Facebook instead of revising" I will inevitably find myself panicking at the last moment because I can't remember the process of depolarisations causing action potentials or the immune response...However if my little sister Holly (who is currently sitting her standard grades) and Eilidh (doing Highers) are reading: don't pay attention to anything I said there. Cramming is bad and will get you nowhere. Keep studying!

A few rather exciting things have happened to me recently. If you read my last blog then you will know that I was searching for a car. Well a car I have found in the shape of a bright blue second hand Corsa who I have named Bertie. At the moment he is staying at home until I am out of the halls, however I have already had one road trip and if it possible to be in love with a piece of machinery then I am. I am reluctant to pimp Bertie out for fear of looking like a ned (Corsa's are officially the first choice of the ned) however I do have some furry dice and ‘Bertie's Beat's' pumping from the stereo. Next step is blacked out windows and a Burberry cap....

Exciting thing number 2- Natalie and I have found a flat! Yay! And not just any flat- one in Bridge of Allan...The posh jibes have been coming at us from all directions however we have always been quick to point out it's the ‘not so posh' side of BOA we are moving to. Never-the-less we are tres excited and can't wait for moving day on the 29th of this month. The thing that's getting me most excited? Well that's the fact that the flat has a great big garden with trampoline in the back which I am looking forward to playing on. ..

Last weekend I went camping for the very first time with some of my best friends on the shores of Loch Lomond just outside of Balmaha. My Mum has always religiously stuck to the rule- "If I can't plug my hairdryer in then we're not going" so this was a totally new experience for me. I had a fantastic time though. Girls beat both groups of guys putting up tents and sitting round our very own camp fire singing songs was class. Until it started to rain. Then it well and truly sucked. Add to that the fact we had no BBQ since one guy sat on and squished the sausages and I accidently mistook the bag of buns for my pillow and we left pretty sharply in the morning! To be honest I did have a great time though and am looking forward to our next expedition...

I will probably be going to watch the British Elite Champs at Strathclyde Park this weekend. Good luck to both David MacNamee and Gavin Noble who are racing there. It's going to be really quite strange being the spectator and not the athlete for once!

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
