Big scary changes...

So I promised you a big announcement. Here it goes…

I have taken the decision to split from my coach Chris and will no longer be based at the High Performance Centre in Stirling. I will be going on a trial period in Loughborough for the next couple of months with the view to moving there permanently in September and becoming a full time athlete if it works out.

I would like to point out that this split is completely amicable and in no way have I fallen out with Chris, triathlonscotland or the University of Stirling, and anyone who suggests otherwise would be lying.

To put it simply, I have made this decision to allow me to progress and improve as an athlete. Nothing else. Although for me this may mean moving to the squad environment in Loughborough , I can accept that this may not be for everyone and would urge anyone that had previously been thinking of going to Stirling to carry on doing so and not be discouraged by my leaving. Stirling truly does have World Class facilities and a fantastic University and has the potential to produce good athletes. It just isn’t the right environment for me just now. Also to any younger athletes out there, even though I am putting University on hold right now I would definitely recommend higher education alongside training. I will most definitely be going back to University to complete my degree as soon as I feel it is the right time to do so again.

I’m saying all this now as if it is done and dusted but of course this is just temporary and I won’t be making any long term decisions until my trial period has finished around September. You’s haven’t got rid of me just yet! Not sure exactly when I will be off but to keep me from ending up in limbo for too long it will definitely be in the next couple of weeks. No gonna lie I am sh*t scared but sacrifice and taking leaps into the unknown is part of elite sport isn’t it??

A massive thank you for all the invaluable support that the team has provided me with in Stirling over the past two years which I am so grateful for. Especially to: Chris, Blair, Maggie, Scott and Marek.

Man I’m gonna miss Scotland…. xXx

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
